The Cheltenham School District is comprised of four elementary schools, two middle schools (one for grades 5 and 6, one for grades 7 and 8) and a high school. Cheltenham High School is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The highly diverse student body is a reflection of Cheltenham Township. The school district has been described as “a shining example of what’s right with education” by the U.S. Department of Education and has been selected as one of the “100 Top Schools in Towns You Can Afford” by Money Magazine. Students consistently exceed the state and national averages in combined SAT scores.

Residents of Cheltenham Township have easy access to SEPTA Regional Rail line with stations located in Elkins Park, Glenside and Melrose Park. Two additional stations, Jenkintown-Wyncote and Cheltenham border the township.
